Terms and conditions
By continuing to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with, and be bound by, the following terms and conditions. This is where we set out how we trade, what you can expect from us and what we can expect from you. These conditions comply with the guidance issued by the Office of Fair Trading. This covers Distance Selling Regulations, eCommerce Regulations, Provision of Services Regulations and the Sale of Goods act.

When you buy items at a distance (under Distance Selling Regulations), your consumer rights apply in the same way as if you bought the item on the high street.

The Sale of Goods Act says that the items must be:
  • As described – fit the description given by the retailer
  • Of satisfactory quality
  • Fit for purpose – suitable for the purpose the item was sold for

You also have the right to the following information before you decide to buy:

A description of the goods we are offering:
Paul Guthrie paints and makes original art, framed prints, limited edition prints and cards

Price of the goods we are offering including all taxes – prices are clearly shown on the website shop by each product and on the category description.

Details of delivery costs and arrangements for delivery – detailed delivery costs are laid out on our delivery page and at the checkout.

We use Royal Mail for delivery and everything is sent signed for. If you’re not in when Royal Mail try to deliver they leave a card and you need to collect it from the sorting office. We get everything Signed For so it arrives safely.

We aim to despatch your products within 5-7 working days. Exceptions may occur over public holidays. We will email you if an order is delayed for any reason.

How payments can be made:
Payments are made via PayPal. Our website does not hold any credit card/debit card details, all financial transactions are handled separately by PayPal.

For more information on the PayPal User Agreement click here.

All prices are showing in pounds sterling.

How we accept orders and our contract with you:
We will email you as soon as possible to confirm receipt of your order.

By placing an order, you are offering to buy a product. We will accept the order as long as we have the stock available. If a product is out of stock, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and refund your payment via PayPal.

When we send an email to say we’ve despatched the product, this forms acceptance of the contract to buy the product (the same as when you pay for something in a shop). In formal language ‘a contract is concluded when the customer becomes bound to buy something and the business becomes bound to supply it’.

Cancellations (up to and including 7 working days after you have received the goods):
Of course we’re really keen for you to be happy with our products, but if you’re not you can cancel your order, at anytime from when you place it (and up to) seven working days after the date you received the goods. But, you do need to let us know by email and we’ll be in touch as soon as we can to sort it out. We will give a full refund (including standard delivery charges) and pay it as soon as possible but at least within 30 days of cancellation.

Goods must be returned in an ‘as sold’ condition. Please pack them carefully as some frames will contain glass and need to be wrapped very well.

All returned goods should be sent to Paul Guthrie, c/o Bentleys, Suite 6, 141/143 South Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH16 4LY. Just to repeat, do pack them carefully, particularly if they contain glass.

Faulty items (within 6 months of purchase):
We try to make sure everything we send out is perfect, but sometimes things slip through the net or develop faults. If so, do contact us immediately and we’ll either replace it or refund you.

Damaged goods:
If a product arrives damaged, get in touch and we’ll do our best to sort it out. We may ask you to take a photo of the damaged item and email or send it to us, just in case the product is so damaged it makes sense to bin it! Our returns policy in no way affects your statutory rights.

Complaints:
If you have a complaint, do get in touch via art@paulguthrie.co.uk and we’ll do our best to sort it out.

Visual representation:
It’s worth bearing in mind different computer screens affect how colours are seen, the paintings may look slightly different in real life (hopefully even better!)
